The Blue Ridge Farmers Market is excited to announce a season full of educational classes for you! Below you will find the dates of the classes, whose teaching it and what the class will be about. All classes will be at 10:30 am under the farmers market tent.
Feel free to show up or sign up at the market. We hope you will take advantage of these classes; who knows, you may find a new hobby or even a new career. You certainly will learn something valuable.
July 10: Growing and painting gourds, Betty Rozier
July 24: Raising Chickens, Linda LaBelle
August 7: Raised bed gardening, Luke Dilbeck
August 14: Raising bees, Reid Carney
August 21: Local herbs and uses, Sue Campbell
September 4: Baking bread and working with yeast, Lisa Queen
Also, we will be having raffles every other Saturday this year, so be sure to come by and get a ticket!
Contest Dates:
July 17th we will have a contest for the biggest tomato. Trophy to be awarded.
July 31st we will have a contest for who can guess how many beans in the basket. Prize to be awarded
August 28th there will be a pie eating contest!! Invite everyone you know. There will a limited number spots for this event. Trophy to be awarded.
